LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). James is known by the name of King James and is considered to be one of the best basketball players ever. James has been awarded four NBA championships as well as four NBA MVPs as well as three MVPs of the All-Star team as well as 2 Olympic medals. James holds the record for having the top amount of points scored during the postseason, second highest total career point total and seventh highest number of career assists. His future NBA career was hyped by media. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the top pick in the NBA draft in 2003. In 2004, he received the title of NBA Rookie. He soon became one of league's top players, and won the NBA MVP award in 2009 & 2010. James, who was unable to be crowned the champion in Cleveland in 2010, quit as a free-agent and joined the Miami Heat. This was made clear by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions taken by a sports free-agent in the history of sports.
